I’m setting a bit of a precedent here sharing something that isn’t directly related to SCYL activity, but at Winter Retreat last year, we talked about this blog being a way for us to stay in touch even though we all live so far away (well… some of us more so than others).
Two Tuesdays ago, I started my first class at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. I’m in the French wing of the international dorm which is SUPER fun. The first weekend after classes started, some of us took a trip together to see The Intouchables (or Les Intouchables) in downtown Tacoma. It is an truly amazing, thought provoking, hilarious film and in FRENCH (with subtitles of course)!
Then last Sunday, I went for an utterly breathtaking hike on Mt. Rainier with about 50 other PLU students sponsored by Campus Ministry (so it was free!). I had been to the mountain before, but never so far up. We’ve been moving quickly through Earth’s formation in my climate change class and whether you believe in creation or plate tectonics (or something in the middle) the view is awe inspiring.
